Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2012- Results of the Written Examination Announced


The UPSC has announced the results of the candidates who have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’). The UPSC had conducted the written exam of the CivilServices(Main), 2012 in October last year.


Personality Test of these candidates will commence from 4th March, 2013. Personality Tests will be held in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The date and time of Personality Test is being intimated to the qualified candidates individually. It will also be displayed on the Commission’s 

Websitehttp://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472. 

The mark-sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days.

schedule to all PTCs for imparting Induction Training to the 189 departmental Inspector Posts candidates


Directorate vide letter No. 1-39/2009-Trg. dated 18.02.2013 has issued the following schedule to all PTCs for imparting Induction Training to the 189 departmental Inspector Posts candidates declared successful in the IP Examination held on 13th and 14th October 2012. Besides, the backlog of 2011 will also be covered. The Induction Training will be commenced in multiple batches at PTCs.

Information related with Senior Postmaster Examination

It is confirmed from 'DE' Division of Postal Directorate that, in all 6 CAT cases are pending at various benches .
(2-Andhra Pradesh, 2-Odisha, 1- each at Punjab and Haryana Circle) on Senior Postmaster Examination. 

     In view these CAT cases, this examination will not be held as per tentative programme circulated by Directorate.

(ii)        No punishment is current against the applicant

            No adverse entry in the APAR/ACR in the last five years

         1.       ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA : (AS ON 01.01.2013)

       (A)   Essential Academic Qualifications:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as
such by the Central Government.

(B) Age Limit: As on 01.01.2013
Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.01.2013 i.e candidates must have been born not
earlier than 02.01.1983 and not later than 01.01.1992 (both days inclusive)Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit to Reserved category candidatesUpper age is relaxable by

(i)                  3 years in the case of OBC candidates.

(ii) 5 years in the case of : (a) SC/ST candidates. (b) Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned
Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) who have rendered at least five years continuous
Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose
assignment is due to be completed within one year) otherwise than by way of dismissal or
discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or /on account of physical disability or have
been released/discharged on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or on
invalidment (c) Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of the State of
Jammu and Kashmir between 1st January, 1980 and 31st December, 1989.

(iii) 10 years for VH/OH (Gen); 13 years for VH/OH (OBC) and 15 years for VH/OH (SC/ST) candidates
